Cullen Jones
Cullen Jones is used to breaking new ground. In the pool, Cullen:
- Is the first African-American male to win gold at the World University Games
- Is the first African-American to break a world record as part of the USA's 400m freestyle relay team at the 2006 Pan Pacific Games
- Is a 4-time ACC Champion and 2006 NCAA Champion
In his spare time, Cullen gives back to the community through motivational speaking, youth clinics and private lessons. Concerned about the lack of diversity in swimming, Cullen is excited to work with Toyota and USA Swimming to increase diversity in the sport and to raise awareness of learn to swim programs in the African-American community.
"I want everyone to know how to swim, at least enough to be safe around water," says Cullen. "And I want everyone to know how it feels to achieve their dreams."
