Toyota sends six Engines of Change
athletes to the 2008 Olympics!!

We are pleased to announce that six Toyota sponsored Engines of Change athletes qualified for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Four swimmers and two triathletes competed in a series of grueling qualifying events which culminated this first week of July in Omaha. Of the six Toyota athletes who qualified, three set either World or American records in their individual events. Furthermore, Dara Torres, swimming phenom, became the first person ever to qualify for five Olympic Games. Now, at 41 years old, she has broken the American rocrd in the 50m Freestyle that she set at the age of 14.
Below is a list of all Toyota Engines of Change athletes that are Beijing-bound and the events in which they are competing. The opening ceremonies will take place August 8, 2008 and NBC will broadast all the action.
Swimmers
Aaron Piersol - 100m and 200m Backstroke
Brendan Hansen - 100m Breaststroke
Cullen Jones - 4x100m Free Relay
Dara Torres - 50m Free and up to three Relays
Triathletes
